Congratulations to the Iraqi People!

The result is not known yet on the Constitutional election, but the turnout- especially in Sunni regions- and the lack of effective interference from the terrorists is a clear victory for Iraq and Middle-East democracy. The most impressive and important thing I noted was that in every picture I've seen of the election not a single non-Iraqi is seen in the process, even on security. It is their country and they are taking charge.

Myself, I hope the Constitution passes and they can correct its defects later. That would allow a permanent government to be elected in December; then there will be no shred of legitamacy to the 'insurgency'.
